Nuclear fragmentation cross section measurements with the FOOT experiment

چکیده

FOOT (FragmentatiOn Of Target) is an applied nuclear physics experiment that aims at a full characterization of the fragmentation processes interest for Particle Therapy and Radiation Protection in Space. The program foresees set measurements direct inverse kinematics using particle beams targets with composition similar to human tissues spacecraft shielding materials. final goal measurement double differential cross sections respect angle fragment energy 100-800 MeV/u range precision better than 5%. Collaboration currently completing development apparatus data acquisition campaigns partial setups have already started. In this paper, overview current status given, together summary preliminary results obtained from first 16 O beams.
